When people ask

For my political party, nine times out of ten I respond with "uh democrat".
This is not entirely true.

I try very hard to keep an open mind. I often fail, and am quick to judge a person based on their political opinion or lack thereof, but my conviction to catch myself when I am doing so matches my stalwart defense of my own political stance.
I am fiscally conservative socialist and a registered democrat. The conundrum that is my political opinion is not easily interpreted. If you’d rather not read the explanation skip the italicized bit.

I believe in free healthcare and socialized medicine. 
I believe in raising the minimum wage. I believe in lowering taxes. I believe the first four things listed are all possible together.

I believe that woman’s rights should be decided and delegated by women. I believe that men need feminism as much as women, because yes “not all men” and if we continue to treat those who have never incited violence or prejudice against a woman we are furthering the problem instead of solving it. I believe trans rights are important. I don’t believe that we need to ban guns. I don’t believe that the military is pointless and are wasting their time. I don’t believe that it is inherently bad that a President of the USA wants to have direct contact with his citizens. I do believe it’s problematic when he is a raging dunderhead.

I believe that religious wars are dumb but do believe that religion is important. I believe free speech is a basic human right but not a warrant to mud-sling or slander other parties. I believe that there is a line between free speech and that which incites violence.

I believe in the separation of church and state. I do not believe it’s working.

I believe that democracy is a great idea for small countries. I don’t believe it’s USA’s best idea to use in the current climate. 

I agree with both democratic and republican values.

I do not, nor will I ever stoop to assume that Republicans and Conservatives as a whole are racist, homophobic and sexist.

Anyone can be stupid.

I will wholeheartedly state that if you use prejudice to validate your actions I will disagree with you.

If you believe that the LGBTQA+ or Pride community are both inconsequential to our society and deserve to be hated, bullied or killed I will disagree with you.

If you believe that women are inferior to men, deserving of less rights, less power and less than equal money I will disagree with you.

If you believe that all men are innately abusive, violent and subject to committing sexual assault no matter how educated they are, I will disagree with you.

If you believe that anyone whose skin color isn’t white is inferior, wrong, bad, inherently poor, ugly, undeserving of citizenship, undeserving of jobs, raises, income, healthcare, and respect I will disagree with you. 

If you believe that your religion should delegate how women’s bodies are governed I will disagree with you. 

If you believe that your religion is the only religion that is important. I will disagree with you.

I will never despise or dismiss and will constantly work to not judge you for disagreeing with me politically.

I will if you use your “political” opinions to dictate being inhumane to others.
